During Lent (Feb. 14-March 28)\, people will walk the ‘length of the Gaza strip’\, and with our bodies\, we will prayerfully map Gaza onto our own cities; in this case\, Ottawa\, on the traditional unceded lands of the Anishinaabe Algonquin people. Our route will be 22km\, which is about half the length of the Gaza Strip. We will start and end at Ottawa City Hall\, with several stops along the way for rest and prayer. We expect the walk to take about 8 hours\, and welcome participants who want to join for shorter sections. Enduring and Sustained Ceasefire.\nB. Immediate flow of life saving food\, water\, aid\, fuel and humanitarian assistance.\nC. Release of all hostages – both the Israeli hostages held by Hamas – and the Palestinian hostages held in the Israeli prison system.\nD. End of occupation so a just peace can begin. \nWe know there are many more “asks” that could have been made\, but these walks have been created to lift up the voices of Palestinians who have been suffering for decades. \nWe extend a warm welcome to people who are not connected to any spiritual or religious tradition.
