DESCRIPTION:Listen. Learn. Act.  \nCapital Pride’s Four foundational pillars are to Educate\, Advocate\, Celebrate and Connect. For our 2024 festival\, we have decided to highlight our pillar of advocacy\, focusing on listening\, learning\, and taking action. \nListen – To listen is to recognize the importance of acknowledging the diverse experiences within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community\, thus fostering understanding and empathy. This inclusive approach acknowledges intersecting identities and unique challenges\, enhancing solidarity and effective advocacy. \nLearn – to learn is to acknowledge the invaluable contributions and sacrifices of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community\, whose resilience and activism have driven progress. Honoring this legacy preserves our history\, offers inspiration\, and highlights the ongoing struggle for equality and justice. \nAct – to act is to bring attention to the ongoing fight for equality\, justice\, and inclusion by amplifying marginalized voices and advocating for their rights. It encourages active participation in advocacy to create a more equitable society where everyone can live authentically and without fear of discrimination. \nUltimately\, “Listen. Learn. Act.” serves as a call to action for all individuals to actively engage with the past\, listen to the voices of those who have been marginalized\, and work together towards a brighter and more inclusive future. It embodies the spirit of resilience\, activism\, and hope that defines the 2SLGBTQIA+ community’s journey towards liberation and collective empowerment.
