Who Lives Here?
Next Saturday, September 12, at 3:00 pm we are hosting an educational event around homelessness and harm reduction through the lens of tenant organizing. We have @leanne_sharzer from Unseen Ottawa joining us to help answer questions around who is unhoused in our neighbourhood and how did they get there? We will also explore how landlord exploitation and the commodification of housing is creating a pipeline to homelessness.
This will be an interactive educational, so bring your questions — even the uncomfortable ones.
All are welcome!
We will be meeting at Jack Purcell Community Centre, Room 202 on the second floor (320 Jack Purcell Lane, just off Elgin). There is elevator access and washrooms available on-site. The event is expected to last 1.5 hours with a short break in the middle.
