Building on the success of last year, an expanded group of local organizers are planning a march for this year’s May Day. We hope you’ll join us!
May Day, or International Workers’ Day, is a longstanding international holiday that celebrates the collective power of all who labour – paid or unpaid, permanent, contract, or gig work, in all industries, services, and areas of work. This also includes all of the often undervalued activities like care work and domestic labour that sustain us and our communities.
At last year’s march, which was endorsed by more than 30 local organizations and unions, hundreds of people took to the streets of downtown Ottawa to celebrate local and international struggles for dignity, justice, and care for working people. Join us to make May Day 2026 even bigger!
Save the date for this year’s May Day march to celebrate the power of ordinary people working together to build a better world, envisioning collective futures beyond borders and capitalism!
