Organizing Against Above Guideline rent Increases
AGIs (above guideline rent increases) are an exploitative practice that extracts even more rent from tenants. Tenants across Ottawa are organizing to fight their AGIs!
On Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 2pm-5pm, at the Bronson Center (Nepean Room), come learn about how to fight AGIs, a legal form of expropriation that contributes to housing insecurity by artificially inflating rental prices across the city!
The event will have 3 sections:
Demystifying the LTB process and why organizing within the LTB is not fruitful.
Organizers and tenants who have successfully fought against AGIs will share their experiences resisting AGIs outside the LTB.
Tenants in Ottawa will exchange strategic experiences, ideas, and questions around fighting AGIs outside the limited arena of the LTB process.
