Saving Garderie Bernadette and Building for the Future
Garderie Bernadette, the on-campus child care centre at the University of Ottawa, is facing eviction due to planned demolition of their site. The university is neither supporting Garderie Bernadette to find a temporary site, nor building a new space for the child care centre that has served its community for over 30 years.
Come out to this event, with speakers including:
Carolyn Ferns – Policy Director of the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care
Jess Tomas – Community Organizer with the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario
Natalie Bruvels – uOttawa Phd Candidate & Save Bernadette Coalition member
Children, parents, students, educators and faculty are all welcome. Refreshments will be available.
There will be a table/blanket area for children to play in the room. This is a family friendly event.
