Steps Toward Reconciliation: A7G Walking Tour of Ottawa

September 26 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

This guided walk, led by Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G), follows a route through downtown Ottawa that highlights how non-Indigenous people and the federal government have shaped residential school policy and colonial legacies. At each stop, we connect historical truths with the work of addressing ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous peoples today.

Everyone is welcome, those who are Gathering attendees as well as the wider community.

Why this during Resource Movement’s National Gathering?
We want the Gathering to begin by grounding ourselves in history and responsibility on unceded Algonquin Anishinaabe territory.

Route & pace
Approximately 2km on city sidewalks at a relaxed group pace, with several short stops for stories and discussion. Begins near First Nations Child & Family Caring Society on Sparks St. and concludes at Adaawewigamig (ByWard Market).
