Chief Pinesi Day
July 1 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Chief Pinesi Day is held annually on July 1 in New Edinburgh park to celebrate the Algonquin Anishinaabe history of the area. It is an opportunity for learning and reconciliation.
Participate in Chief Pinesi Day on July 1, from 9 am to 2 pm, in New Edinburgh Park, at 203 Stanley Avenue. This special day, which is the culmination of an eight-day paddle from Deep River, will feature a Sacred Fire beginning at 9 am, a smudging ceremony at noon, drumming, dancing and singing, a land tour of the Chief Pinesi Portage Trail, and an opportunity to meet and hear from the paddlers about their experiences after they arrive at noon.
