Public Rally: Scrap the Chalk River Near Surface Disposal Facility (NSDF)
February 28 - March 1
WE WILL NOT STAND IDLE.
We will be gathering in solidarity at the annual Canadian Nuclear Association conference outside of the Westin Hotel in Ottawa from February 28th through March 1st from 9-5 to make it loud and clear to the Canadian nuclear industry and energy ministers present that we do not consent to the Chalk River Near Surface Disposal Facility (NSDF) project and we do not want nuclear waste in our watershed! Whether you come for one day or for every day, your presence makes a difference.
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has failed to uphold its duty to consult, neglecting the constitutionally protected and inherent rights of Indigenous Peoples. We will not stand idle. We must come together to defend the Kichi Sibi and our rights as Indigenous Peoples.
